MANILA — The Philippine Air Force is warning the public against buying or circulating unauthorized study guides and test reviewers for two of its key recruitment exams, saying it has not produced or endorsed any such materials.
The Human Resource Management Center of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) said in a statement that it does not produce, endorse or authorize any reviewers or study guides for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) or the Philippine Air Force General Classification Test (PAFGCT).
The AFPSAT is a standardized aptitude test used across the Armed Forces of the Philippines as an initial screening tool for recruitment applicants, while the PAFGCT is a Philippine Air Force-specific exam used to further evaluate candidates during the selection process.
The center said any review products bearing the Philippine Air Force’s official name, logo or symbols are unauthorized and could mislead applicants. It urged the public and prospective applicants to refrain from purchasing or sharing such materials.
Unauthorized “reviewer” materials have long circulated around Philippine government entrance and civil service-type exams, with third-party sellers sometimes using official seals or branding without permission to market study guides to anxious applicants. Such materials can be outdated or inaccurate, and critics say they mainly serve to extract payment from applicants without offering real value.
The Philippine Air Force regularly opens recruitment cycles for enlisted personnel, cadets and specialized roles, drawing significant public interest — demand that unauthorized sellers have sought to capitalize on.
The Philippine Air Force said it remains committed to a “truthful, transparent, and fair recruitment process” for all applicants.
The advisory did not name specific sellers or products, and the Philippine Air Force did not immediately provide further details on the scope of the problem or whether legal action was being considered.
